Home About

Hey, nice to meet you!

I’m Claire, originally from the beautiful tiny island of Malta but living in the UK. I’m a foreign languages teacher, an MBA graduate and now also a blogger.

My favourite thing to do is travelling to different places although during the years I got attached to some cities and keep going back. A few other things I enjoy are discovering new food, having picnics and watching sunsets. However, I’m most passionate about languages and food. The love for languages has been there from a very young age, hence studying languages for the past 20 years. My second passion; food, mainly cooking and baking is more recent.

I grew up in a multilingual culture. I learnt Maltese and English from birth and spoke fluent Italian from watching TV. I decided to study French and Italian at college and university and have been teaching languages ever since.

The start of this website came from combining my two passions (languages and cooking/baking) and is aimed at you that don’t have a lot of spare time to learn a new language. This website will help you learn and practice whilst doing something fun; cooking/baking.

GET IN TOUCH!

I’d love to hear from you! Whether you have a question about languages, recipes, just want to say hello, or even collaborate on a new exciting project!

The Languages Kitchen

I want to share the content of this website with all of you like me that don’t find time to sit down and learn a new language by going through grammar books. The Languages Kitchen started taking shape in 2016 and its main focus is teaching French and Italian, plus other vocabulary from other languages that I come across on my travels. I’ll share French and Italian recipes, and other typical food I bump into in my travels. Each post will follow up with lessons and worksheets to practice the language.

I’m sure you’ll feel right at home in this community. You can go at your own pace from the comfort of your home. You’ll get a recipe you can enjoy cooking/baking so you’ll be learning a language whilst preparing some delicious food. So stick around, prepare the tasty recipes and follow your dream of learning a new language without the stress.
