un an/une année
l’an dernier/l’année dernière
l’an prochain/l’année prochaine
As you can see from the examples above, both an and année are used to refer to a year. Both words are used in French and they mean exactly the same thing.
The second point, same as we mentioned for the days of the week, French do not capitalise the months. Let's go through the pronunciation of the months. Repeat after each pronunciation you listen to in the clip.
