Now, who knows what ordinal numbers are? The name itself gives a good clue.
I numeri ordinali - numeri che mostrano ordine e posizione.
Alcuni esempi sono: primo, secondo, quinto...
Si usano anche con dei modi di dire come ad esempio:
- Essere al settimo cielo - essere molto felice (to be in 7th heaven)
- Essere il primo della classe - essere il più bravo della classe (be the number one in class)

Unlike other languages, ordinal numbers in Italian change completely from the cardinal numbers and end in an -o if it's masculine and an -a if it's feminine.
